This is a Painting with A Purpose charity event benefiting the Quest Center for Art & Community Development. We will be painting a beautiful 16x20 - Smoky Mountains in the Fall. The Quest Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit music education & youth development center located in Dickson that offers year-round, low-cost instrument instruction, music theory, & extended education programs for students in grades 4-12, including individuals living with disabilities. No child is turned away for financial reasons. To help reduce transportation issues, Quest conducts classes at locations throughout the community, including multiple Dickson County public schools. Quest provides free in-class use of instruments and offers a limited number of home-loaner instruments for qualified students. Quest's music education program helps improve the lives of children living in Dickson County & surrounding communities, helping them develop skills to succeed in school & prepare them to compete in the job market - self-confidence, positive self-esteem, social skills, accountability and collaboration skills. Current curriculum includes: guitar, keyboard, fiddle & voice conditioning. In 2017-18 more than 700 students have been served through music classes, workshops & music camps, inluding over 100 students enrolled in weekly music classes. Quest has an 88-94% student retention rate. More than 63% of students received financial scholarships.
PWAT/Dickson will donate 50% of the proceeds to this Quest Center fundraiser. Seating is limited and this event WILL sell out so don't wait to make your reservation. This class is a public event.
