Pharmacy Technology Instructor – Dickson South Campus
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of
Associate Instructor in the new Pharmacy Technology program at the Dickson South Campus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary credential from an accredited institution preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• Current nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6)
months.
• Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students a plus.
SKILLS
• Must possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with
high school and adult students.
• Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality.
• Must commit to remain current in the Pharmacy Technician field and establish/maintain program
accreditation(s).
• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the
general public and business/industry representatives.
• Computer skills and ability to adapt quickly to new technology required.
• Must be willing and able to perform administrative duties in a timely manner.

GENERAL DUTIES: The Pharmacy Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for on-campus teaching of
theory and skills to prepare students to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians. The Associate Instructor will
monitor, grade, evaluate and advise students on individual progress; maintain records and complete reports in a timely
manner; assist in recruitment of new students and placement of graduates; participate in the development of the
program; maintain good public relations with business and industry; develop and maintain agreements with clinical
partners; maintain an active advisory committee, and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of
Health Career Programs. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Class hours are Monday
through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Anticipated start date for the position is April 1. This is not a remote work
position.

SALARY: $50,894-$61,074 annually ($26.10-$31.32 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied
Technology salary guidelines and directly related experience.
